Executive Dysfunction Simulator
A downloadable game
Executive Dysfunction Simulator is, as I would call it, an "experimental journaling experience" in the form of a short solo ttrpg.
Executive dysfunction itself is a broad term with varied definitions, but I explain it as an inability to perform actions, often due to thinking and emotions being affected. It can really weigh you down and leave you in a state of just doing repetitive, easily rewarding behaviours (for me this is very often playing video games).
People with behavioural and mood disorders often experience executive dysfunction. Nowadays it's associated a lot with Autism and ADHD.
This simulator is on one hand a way to put into words and express my experiences with executive dysfunction in hopes of finding some resonance, and on the other hand a way for people who don't experience it to get a glimpse into one example of how it affects people.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy this game/experience. Visually it's a bit of a bare document, something that I will adjust in future iterations.
Also, taking care of yourself is always the most important. If the game ever gets too close to reality and starts being triggering, remember that you can stop playing at any time.
